Dr. Lim is a Consultant Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgeon with over 29 years of clinical experience. He specialises in both cardiac and thoracic surgeries and serves as the Medical Director at C H Lim Thoracic Cardiovascular Surgery, located at Mount Elizabeth Medical Centre and Farrer Park Medical Centre in Singapore.

Dr. Lim graduated from the National University of Singapore with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery in 1990. He earned his Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (Edinburgh) in 1994 and furthered his training in cardiothoracic surgery at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation in the USA from 1999 to 2001. In 2002, he became a Fellow of the Academy of Medicine, Singapore.

International Expertise

During his tenure at the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, Dr. Lim trained among leading cardiothoracic experts, enhancing his skills in advanced surgical techniques. He has also served as a visiting consultant to various institutions, including the National Heart Centre Singapore, National Cancer Centre Singapore, and several major hospitals in Singapore.

Contributions to the Field and Education

Dr. Lim has been instrumental in pioneering ECMO and LVAD implantation for heart failure patients in Singapore. He is the regional proctor for LVAD devices, providing long-term support for patients with advanced heart failure. An active researcher, he is developing a bidirectional cannula for ECMO and minimally invasive cardiac surgery. He has published abstracts, papers, and book chapters, and has been involved in several clinical trials. Dr. Lim has also contributed to medical education as a Senior Lecturer at the National University of Singapore and as an Adjunct Associate Professor at the Duke-NUS Graduate Medical School. He continues to lecture and conduct workshops at various medical meetings.
